Life On The Bridge: A Documentary and Discussion

April 17, 2018 | 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Life On The Bridge encourages the viewer to accept what one cannot change in one’s own life and move forward toward the potential of all that can be.  This short film documentary focuses on the life of Jewish filmmaker, Judy Weintraub, and her story of living with a chronic health issue requiring kidney dialysis for more than 40 years to illustrate the power of Jewish principles, such as individual responsibility (Rambam), and Reb Nachman’s teaching – Gesher Tsar M’od (Life is a narrow bridge), Choosing Life (Deuteronomy), and taking charge of one’s attitude (Viktor Frankl). Following the short film’s presentation, the participants will be engaged in a discussion, applying this particular story to universal themes of resilience and hope, when facing the significant challenges that can happen on the journey of life.
