Cantor Sue Knight Deutsch

Cantor Sue Knight Deutsch is the author of The Healing Hand: 5 discussions to have with the dying who are living, and is an internationally acclaimed speaker, as well as an ICF certified resilience coach. Originally trained as a psychiatric social worker in her native England, she entered the Cantorate in 1996, becoming a member of the Cantors Assembly, and further trained in Jewish hospice care. Sue served for 16 years in Orange County, California as the sole spiritual leader and chaplain of a Jewish assisted living facility. She served as a member of the Executive Council of the Cantors Assembly nationally, and as the co-chair of the Western Region. Sue is an alumna of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality’s Clergy Leadership Program, and is a certified yoga instructor. She holds a Certificate in Positive Psychology from the Wholebeing Institute. After losing her husband to cancer in 2009, her calling deepened and she wrote her book to reach out to others beyond her pulpit. In addition to serving private clients in her coaching practice, Sue leads contemplative services and travels to teach workshops on how to be present for those who are ill, as well as grief and transformation workshops to help people move forward and thrive after loss.
