Rabbi Rachel Bat-Or

Rabbi Rachel Bat-Or, MFT, has been a spiritual leader, therapist, and teacher for over 35 years. She is currently the Director of the JQ International Helpline, which offers support for LGBTQ Jews and their allies. In that role she responds to daily calls and emails from throughout the United States and as far away as Algeria and the Ukraine. She continues to train and supervise volunteers in answering calls and finding the most LGBTQ inclusive resources. Since 2014 she has presented 45 LGBTQ Inclusion Trainings to 30 organizations in the Los Angeles area.

Before joining JQ, she served congregations in Berkeley and Tustin, CA, and Macon, GA. She has been published in the Journal of the Central Conference of American Rabbis. As a Marriage and Family Therapist Rabbi Bat-Or created and taught the Seven Steps to Healing® model which emerged from her work with people who have experienced trauma.
