Rabbi Avivah W. Erlick BCC is the president of Sacred Waters (www.Sacred-Waters.com), an L.A. provider of the Jewish funerary rite known as tahara. She is a frequent speaker on creative approaches to tahara at the annual North American Chevrah Kadisha and Jewish Cemetery Conference, and is the co-author of The Soul of Tahara, an exploration of the boundaries of this ancient and beautiful ritual. She is a rabbi/chaplain in private practice, serving in hospice, corrections, senior living, congregational and private settings. She was ordained in 2009 by the transdenominational Academy for Jewish Religion-California, and holds Board Certified Chaplain status from the Association of Professional Chaplains.
