Rabba Ramie Smith

Rabba Ramie Smith is part of the Judaics faculty at Shalhevet High School in Los Angeles, CA. She worked as the video director/producer for Mayim Bialik's Grok Nation. A graduate of Yeshiva University with a BA in English communications with emphasis in television writing and public relations and a focus in Women's Studies, Rabba Ramie worked as an intern and freelance production assistant at Comedy Central's The Colbert Report. Rabba Ramie served as the congregational intern at Beth Sholom Congregation and Talmud Torah in Potomac, MD where she gave classes and worked on cultivating a vibrant teen community and as a teacher with Manhattan College's Inside Outside program teaching Criminal Justice Ethics at the Rose M. Singer Center on Rikers Island. Rabba Ramie also moderates the innovative podcast “The Joy of Text”, a collaboration between JOFA and YCT discussing issues of Judaism and Sexuality with Rabbi Dov Linzer, Dr. Batsheva Marcus and experts in various fields. Rabba Ramie combines her training at Yeshivat Maharat with her experience in media, having served as the executive producer at Aleph Beta, a website that produces animated Torah videos.
