Luc Vanier

Luc Vanier is the founding Director for the School of Dance at the University of Utah. He was a former principal dancer and company choreographer with Ohio Ballet and danced pivotal roles across the U.S. In 2001, he graduated with his MFA from the University of Illinois and became a certified teacher from the Urbana Center for the Alexander Technique. Since then, Vanier has lectured and presented his research nationally and internationally on the integration of the Alexander Technique and developmental movement.

In this three-hour workshop, attendees will gain a hands-on understanding of how to internalize the wisdom of Shabbat through the body using the Alexander Technique.  Our body is often overworking without our knowledge.  Shabbat asks us to unburden ourselves from our weekday concerns and to not perform work, but how do we find that freedom and unburdening in the body as well as the mind?  Often, our body is overworking in ways we don’t realize.  How can we let go…
