Collective Dreams: Storytelling, Community, and Healing

April 18, 2018 | 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Free

This interactive and experiential workshop explores the intersection of Judaism’s rich tradition of storytelling with what modern neuroscience tells us about the role sharing stories plays in promoting community, healing, and wellness.

Over the course of our time together, we will delve into the role that storytelling has played in Jewish life and other cultures throughout the world. We’ll learn how stories affect us at a physiological level and discover how to mine our own lives for personal myths. Finally, we will craft stories of our own and share them in a safe, supportive, fun environment to experience the power of storytelling a new way.

Everyone will come away with an expanded understanding of how telling and sharing stories promotes wellness, a unique experience, and at least one story of their own. Explore the power of storytelling to promote well-being in this interactive, experiential, and fun workshop.
