Navigating the Wilderness of Loss: Reframing the Spiritual Journey of Grief

April 17, 2018 | 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Grief is not an illness. It is a spiritual journey through a wilderness in which we learn, usually against our will, both what it means to be human and the nature of mature faith. Using text study, Holy Hebrew words, meditation, and expressive techniques, we will reframe the psychotherapeutic description of grief’s stages as a spiritual path, as we traverse the landscape of loss, searching, not only for what has been lost, but also for an understanding of YHVH that can nurture the poles of human experience, and turn “mourning into dancing.”
